Nothing Like The Classics

I've Been Slacking...

From the years of researching and discovering new designers I favored when it came to handbags, I always had my top 2 {one day when I make it} bags (we all have those, don't we?) the Chanel quilted bag & the Hermes Birkin Bag. Although, when it comes to the Birkin bag, Jason would never understand why we need to spend $10k on something like that... & as I discovered more designers the Birkin slowly moved down my list and I quickly got over wanting to have the bag that seemed to be the staple piece for a celebrity to buy when they were able to... not that I'm in that category, ha (and sadly, there are so many knock-offs when it comes to the Birkin, LV logo and Burberry I would just never be able to bring myself to buy one... (unless it was Burberry Porsum) ANYWAY . .
a few years ago when I saw the Mulberry Bayswater Bag I was immediately turned off because I thought it resembled the Hermes Birkin Bag, so then I became turned off to Mulberry UNTIL . .

My last two trips to London I slowly started to fall in love with Mulberry. Once I learned more about it and ventured out from the Bayswater.. I was hooked. So my latest obsession ... The Alexa in the Oak Soft Buffalo Leather. I LOVE classics and as much as I love color , there is nothing like a classic bag that will last forever. {even better that it's a mix between a men's briefcase & a women's handbag}

And the one who inspired this great piece ..

It's Not Too Early To {Think Spring}. .. right?

It seems that everyday Jason & I are talking about what we would do to our house differently if we had the money .. our downstairs was completely re-modeled just a year ago and we've already re-painted the kitchen 3times ... we're still not satisfied !

Despite the long list we have for the inside:

re-decorating the living room {total transformation with bright colors&old fashioned furniture}
extending the kitchen into the sun room
front porch {my dream}
bathroom {which is actually happening thanks to a lovely leak into our kitchen_thank you!}
bedroom

We have a lot of fun plans for our empty big yard. Although, thanks to the lady who used to live here, we have some great flowers that grow {she has them perfectly timed_it's amazing} and some asparagus ! It's pretty nice. Anyway . .. .
Jason wants to build a deck & I want a trellis .. a big one, covered in ivy & flowers and great outdoor furniture. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds? I think so.

OK, so the last two pictures don't go with my trellis idea, but I had to throw in some "a girl can dream" pictures.

They come in many different styles & colors.

New {Etsy} Favorite

The office is a bit quiet today, except for my 2yr old niece hanging out with me, but while she was indulging in Dora & a very large lollipop, I was indulging in some Etsy browsing.

I've been trying to find a really great vintage shop on there for awhile now & I think I finally found it ! {persephonevintage} I'm always looking for a new place to buy .. lets say.. pieces that AREN'T in every single store you walk into.. more {one of a kind} & also being affordable helps.

I pulled some of my favorite items, which is close to the entire site but I'll try to keep it at a minimum.

I'll let you know which one I finally decided on {yes I'm buying something today}
::sigh:: It's been awhile & I can't resist when it's something fabulous that isn't super expensive.

Potential {Dream Vacation}

So this is pretty ironic.
Jason has been obsessed with tree houses for quite some time and since we don't necessarily have any interest in vacationing in typical vacation spots, we always try and think of something different to aim for. Well I stumbled upon this place called TREEHOUSE POINT , from one of the many blogs I obsess over {A Cup Of Jo} I think this is a pretty amazing idea ! and of course he went nuts when I showed it to him_so here is our next potential vacation ... one day. Or even a honeymoon ? I wouldn't be opposed to this. Although, there goes my January wedding since Washington isn't the best place to be during the winter, esp in a tree house... I'm guessing. (not getting married soon, but yeah it's an open conversation, which is still fun) ANYWAY ...

Ruffles & Lace { at their best } .. my weakness.

Being that today was my day off gave me some time to go through the Spring 2010 collections again & why didn't I realize sooner how much I love every aspect of Valentino's ? It took me awhile to pick out some favorites, considering I love everything. The details to his collection are amazing... & in the end isn't that what it's all about?

I'm Obsessed

Lately all I want to do is buy new furniture for my house _ but that doesn't seem like the economical choice right now _ so I get my fill by spending hours looking at it... it's sad.
I'm really into vintage/victorian looking furniture but they never look comfortable enough to be a staple piece in my living room_considering the fact it's not big enough to hold a "practical" piece and well .. just something nice to look at.
Until I found this: { and I can't remember where I found this picture, so if it's yours please tell me and I'll give the proper credit }

It's the perfect mix of vintage/victorian style with some comfortable cushions to replace what probably used to be there. I'm obsessed_so simple but exactly what I want my living room to be filled with { I wonder if Jason would allow this? }
So now I'm on a slight mission...

I'm mainly obsessed with chairs though... if I could have an entire room full of chairs _ well, I would. I'm not sure what I would then do in this room ... I could always take up a new hobby .. like knitting or something & host a knitting club? Anyway.. I found these great chairs from different sellers on Etsy .

I Never Realized How Much I Love My { Home.Sweet.Home }

I just returned from a 10 day vacation in London & as excited as I was to go & as much as I love it there ... once I walked in my front door I realized how much I love it here.
. . . esp. our big bed_not that I didn't love staying a week with a good friend in London, but sleeping on a pull-out bed hardly compensates.
{ I'll be posting pictures from the trip through-out the week, I'm still trying to get settled }

Coming home to a freshly cleaned house {thanks Mom !}, makes me want to re-decorate again. I've always been in love with the Missoni prints. I would love to have a little bit of Missoni in every room of my house, some coffee mugs, a throw in the living room... bedding would be key though.

I Couldn't Resist Anymore...

I've been addicted to a select few blogs over the past 2months and I keep thinking of what I would do if I had my own_so I decided to just go for it !

I'm an event decorator in NEPA, but I won't be focusing on one thing_I love fashion, interiors, art, photography.. just a few to name. I'm excited to just have a space I can post random things I stumble upon that I can share_maybe one day someone will be addicted to mine.
So I guess .. WELCOME !

My best bud_Marty.
